Applications are invited for the post of Assistant Professor in Physiology/Cardiovascular Science, based at University Hospitals of Burton and Derby NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Derby Hospital Centre, Derby. 

You will need to have excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clarity on complex and conceptual ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers, using high level skills and a range of media. You will have extensive experience within your subject/discipline. You will have a track record in the design and delivery of high quality and up-to-date material using a range of delivery techniques and technologies to inspire and engage students. 

You will work with the Graduate Entry Medical programme course lead and the Medical Physiology and Therapeutics BSc course lead and under the direction of the Director of Undergraduate Studies, to ensure the effective delivery of materials for innovative degree programmes in the area of physiology and cardiovascular science. You will be a module lead for physiology and cardiovascular science within the Graduate Entry Medicine programme and the BSc in Medical Physiology and Therapeutics, courses. You will provide a consistently excellent standard of teaching and support for student learning that is underpinned by scholarship related to the discipline. 

You must have a PhD or equivalent in Biomedical Sciences (with specialist interest in Physiology and Cardiovascular Science) or the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience.

This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis (36.25 hours). Job share arrangements may be considered.
