Faculty/Directorate

You will join a truly innovative School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences, with a suite of postgraduate programmes, a fully integrated MPharm based on Team-Based Learning (TBL) and excellence in research.

What you will be doing:

  • The key objective of this postholder will be to develop and deliver study days as part of a HEE funded contract to deliver supplementary training for hospital-based trainee pharmacists completing foundation training across the North of England. 
  • This training is delivered by the Foundation Training Consortium (FTC), which is a partnership between the University of Bradford, Buttercups and Imaan Healthcare. The FTC are pioneers of innovative education and training for the pharmacy workforce and share a desire to improve the quality of pharmacy education. 
  • The focus of the study days is the development of independent practitioners by expanding clinical, consultation, assessment and decision-making skills; particularly those which are difficult to gain experience of in hospital pharmacy e.g. management of minor ailments.  
  • These study days are a mix of face-to-face and online and will be delivered across the North of England. The postholder will therefore be required to travel to deliver the face-to-face days.
  • The post holder will contribute to teaching professional and clinical practice, help to develop, deliver and assess training packages, modules and short courses to enable trainee and registered pharmacists to develop their skills.  

Qualifications/ experience:

  • MPharm degree (or equivalent)
  • Registration with the UK General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Postgraduate qualifications e.g Postgraduate Diploma OR significant professional experience as a pharmacist working in a variety of clinical settings
  • Independent Prescribing qualification is an advantage
  • Experience of teaching and facilitating / supporting in pharmacy education at undergraduate and/or postgraduate taught level and/or in a pharmacy organisation leading to successful student outcomes
  • Knowledge of the GPhC education and training standards, assessment framework and requirements for Pre-registration foundation year training
