The Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering is seeking an Assistant Professor to drive our ambitious research programmes and provide a best in class learning experience in developing and inspiring the next generation of engineers.

Currently ranked 3rd in the UK for Chemical and Environmental Engineering, you will be joining a highly multidisciplinary environment where collaboration between Faculty staff, students and external colleagues is key to the successful delivery of our curriculum and research.

In this research and teaching role, you will use your extensive knowledge and skills to lead original research, produce high quality outputs and seek and secure external research funding. This includes the practical, hands-on experience to be able to deliver and supervise teaching and learning activities in a CEE laboratory environment.

Above all, this role is about collaboration. We are looking for someone who is self-starting but who also values and prioritises building and developing good working relationships at the heart of everything they do.

You will need to work proactively with colleagues, Directors of Education and Student Experience, and a wider educational team to design, develop and deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences and you will be a clear and confident communicator with the ability to engage and inspire students and colleagues across the Faculty.

You will be educated to degree level in a chemical or environmental engineering or a closely related discipline and have the ability to provide engineering context to your teaching.
