The Department of Experimental Biology - Section of Experimental  Plant Biology at the Faculty of Science MU is a modern, fully equipped workplace where individual research groups are engaged in research at all levels - from molecules and cells to whole plants.

Job Description

Key Duties:

  • Teaching in study programmes accredited at Masaryk University
  • Supervising of theses in bachelor and master degree of study
  • Supervising students working in laboratories
  • Research work and leadership of scientific projects in the field of plant physiology and
    mechanisms of plant response to environmental stress factors

Skills and Qualifications

The applicant must have:

  • Ph.D. degree in plant physiology, molecular biology or related fields
  • MSc. degree in plant physiology, molecular biology or related fields
  • Practical experience with experimental work and involvement in scientific projects in the fields of physiology of plants and ecological physiology of plants
  • Experience in methods focused on water and gas transport in plants
  • Experience with methods of plant anatomy including quantitative evalutation of sections using image analysis tools
  • Experience with mentoring of students
  • Experience with presentation of scientific results in talks at international meetings
  • Work experience  (1/2 y minimum) in a research laboratory abroad
  • Relevant publishing record in the field of plant physiology in journals with IF
  • Ability for teaching anatomy and physiology of plants in Czech and English
  • Ability for team work, active approach, initiative, dependability, accuracy, administrative ability
  • Experience and qualification for teaching at university level
  • Active knowledge of Czech language. In applicants that are not native speakers is required Czech language exam certificate - level CCE-B2 or higher
  • Good communication skills in English language – minimum level B2
