The Faculty of Business and Law is home to over 7000 students enrolled on undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes across a broad variety of academic areas, along with over 400 staff from a rich diversity of cultural and subject backgrounds. Maximising the employment prospects of our graduates is central to everything we do which is why the Faculty has invested heavily in facilities to enhance students’ learning experiences.  These include a state-of-the-art DigiComm Lab equipped with the latest industry standard software and hardware, a replica court room, Trading Floor with 42 Bloomberg terminals and a Strategy Lab; each offering hands-on opportunities to develop and apply the learning.

The Faculty of Business and Law, Coventry University is expanding significantly both in terms of student numbers and its widening range of executive education programmes. This public sector leadership programme involves delivering a flagship leadership programme to current and future leaders within the Civil Service. The programme involves an innovative blend of experiential and problem-based learning built around four core learning modules, supported by Coaching and Action Learning Sets.

We have exciting opportunities of two 14-month fixed term Assistant Professor posts to support a strategically important executive education project.

  • Assistant Professor and Deputy Course Director of Civil Service Leadership Programme

The role of Deputy Course Director will support the Course Director and manage specific academic aspects of the programme and deputise for the Course Director. As an Assistant Professor your responsibilities will be commensurate with those expected at this level, we will expect the post holder to teach on the programme as well as to manage, design and deliver against objectives set for the project. You will work closely with the Associate Dean (Enterprise and Innovation), the Course Director, the PGCert Course Director, Operation team and the rest academic tutor team, in addition to other multiple internal and external stakeholders.
