The Faculty is home to the largest selection of forward thinking vocational health and social care courses in the Midlands.

As one of three schools in the Faculty, the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health is the largest School and delivers undergraduate and post graduate courses for a range of health professions including; nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practice, and most recently diagnostic radiography. We also have a large portfolio of CPD courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including Advanced Clinical Practice and Non-Medical prescribing. Coventry is ranked in the top 10 for 12 of the 44 subject tables it appears in, and 5 of which are within the School including nursing which is ranked 6th in the UK (Guardian University Guide 2023).

We are currently seeking to recruit a nurse academic into the role of Assistant Professor Adult Nursing with a vision to further enhance the success of the nursing apprenticeship portfolio. Courses within this portfolio include BSc Adult Nursing Apprenticeship, BSc Mental Health Nursing Apprenticeship, BSc Learning Disabilities Nursing Apprenticeship, and BSc Children and Young Peoples Nursing Apprenticeship and MSc pre-reg nursing apprenticeships. Applicants should therefore have experience of leading and delivering nursing apprenticeship courses.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who will join the School to drive the School’s vision and ambitions for nursing courses and to support staff in effective delivery of high-quality courses and promote an excellent student experience. The role-holder will work with all pre-reg nursing teams to enhance the apprenticeship offer.
