As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the School & Institute Finance Manager in all aspects of the Management accounting, planning, and forecasting service for your School(s)/Institutes(s).  

Key to your success will be the ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels and across all areas of the University, to be able to interpret and analyse large volumes of complex data and communicate impacts on financial outcomes. You will need excellent customer service and communication skills with an enthusiastic and proactive manner.

You will also require problem-solving skills and a tenacity for investigating variances, experience in reconciling accounts and an ability to work on your own initiative whilst ensuring that work remains accurate and timely when delivering to tight deadlines.

The Faculties of Medicine & Health and Biological Sciences have a combined turnover of c. £250m, and are comprised of 12 different Schools and Institutes.

This role is within the University Finance Service; it is located within the Faculties of FMH & FBS however, should the business need arise, and after full consultation with you, you may be deployed elsewhere within the Finance Service.

Please note that the anticipated start date for this role will be in May 2024.
