Salary

Full time starting salary is normally in the range of £26,860 to £30,513 per annum, pro rata, with potential progression up to £37,701 per annum pro rata (30 hours per week)


About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to join the Library Education team to provide high-quality support to students and academic staff in Cranfield Defence and Security (CDS). The successful candidate will work with our Information Specialists to develop and deliver training in library and information literacy topics, including the creation of online guides, activities and videos. Enquiry support, resource selection and special projects will also form part of the role so they will need to be customer focused and continually improve their practice in order to enhance the student experience.

About You

You should be a qualified (or qualifying) librarian and/or have some prior experience of supporting information literacy skills in a higher education setting.

You will be highly motivated, have a passion for teaching and learning, with excellent communication and digital skills.

Some evening and weekend working may be necessary on occasion.

The Library plays an integral role in the life of the University and sits within the Student Experience Professional Services Unit (PSU).  The Library Service has three individual libraries across both University sites. At Cranfield campus the Kings Norton Library, designed by Sir Norman Foster, serves the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing, the School of Water, Energy and Environment and the School of Management. The Management Information and Resource Centre is located within the School of Management and provides additional embedded support for staff and students in the School. The Barrington Library is based at the Defence Academy on the Shrivenham site and serves Cranfield Defence and Security.

The Education Support team, comprising of Information Specialists and Assistant Information Specialists, are based at all three libraries but regularly collaborate to ensure we are providing a first class learner experience to all our staff and students.
