Research and Creative Industries (RCI), within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business, provides administrative support for the research and creative industry activity within the faculty.  This includes but is not exclusive to the Arts Institute (AI) Public Programme, external research projects and the general research environment across the faculty. Please note you will be office based and will be required to work flexible hours dependant on the AI programme, which may include some evening/weekend work.

Research and Creative Industries, within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, seeks an experienced assistant administrator, to provide effective and efficient administrative support for all aspects of research and creative industries for this part time, fixed term post.

You will work a flexible work pattern in order to support the public programme, with occasional evening/weekend working.

The role will mainly involve supporting the public programme including collating content, booking travel and accommodation, and processing financial claims plus:

  • Organising and maintaining the online ticketing system.
  • Managing rotas and leading on training for our student interns.
  • Organising and servicing meetings.
  • Generally supporting research activity across the Faculty.

You will have excellent organisation, communication and prioritisation skills.  Good customer service skills are essential along with fully developed IT skills.  You will preferably have experience of working administratively in higher education or an arts environment.

You will have a professional approach and be able work both as part of a team and use your own initiative.

This is a part-time position working 18.5 hours per week on a fixed-term basis until 31 December 2021 in the first instance.
