INTERNAL: This vacancy is open to Research and Teaching Level 6 and 7 employees of the University of Nottingham only.

The Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor (APVC) for the Researcher Academy and Researcher Career Development is a critical role with the goal to recruit and develop outstanding researchers at all career stages, and to develop specific strategies, University policy and projects to realise this.

The APVC will provide a clear academic strategic direction for the Researcher Academy, develop strategic initiatives in relation to researchers and researcher career development, and provide institutional leadership in the PGR space.

Reporting on an operational level to the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange, this role is to play a key part in leading the development and successful implementation of the University strategy for research.  As well as working with the PVC for RKE, the APVC will also work closely with Researcher Academy colleagues, Researcher Academy Faculty Leads, key colleagues in Research and Innovation and Registry and Academic Affairs. 

The role is for 3 years from appointment.  It involves a 2.5 day buy-out of time, that goes to the home department, and comes with a leadership allowance of £10,000 per annum (which is non-consolidated and non-pensionable).
