Are you an innovative Mobile Developer looking for a new role where you will have the opportunity to develop a range of applications for a global digitally connected community?
Digital & Technology Services have an exciting new opportunity for a solutions focused Mobile Developer to join our team who will support existing applications and drive innovation and new ideas in the design and development of software systems and applications to support delivery of the University’s digital strategy. Your role will be key in enabling a better user experience for our staff and students creating accessible technology that can be continually improved.
As an experienced Mobile Developer you will have the opportunity to work across a range of applications to help drive forward and deliver new solutions that are fit for purpose and provide innovation and a digitally enhanced service to our global University community. You will work with other Developers, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Testers, Solution Designers, as well as the wider DTS department and other areas of the university. As part of the wider Application Development team, you will help promote software development best practice, in line with agile methodologies to inspire the team to think creatively whilst enabling a solutions-based culture
As the successful candidate, you will have a Degree/professional qualification, proven understanding of the software development lifecycle, knowledge of database interactions such as Graph QL including Apollo library and a sound understanding of Clean Architecture. You will have a background in mobile development with experience developing applications such as Kotlin in Android Studio and have an excellent understanding of version control. Desirable attributes are knowledge of Java, experience of C#, familiarity with the use of CI pipelines, REST APIs and general API design, as well as front-end technologies (JavaScript, React Native, CSS) and Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS).

The post is offered on a permanent, full time (36.25 hours per week) contract, however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).
