This is a permanent post, which is available immediately and is based at the Streatham Campus in Exeter in the in the University’s Biological Services Units (BSU).

Summary of the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Exeter, with new facilities and a growing team.  The role-holder will be expected to perform animal husbandry of all species (rodents) held, research support and maintenance and ancillary duties in a busy animal facility.  They will also assist with administrative support and liaising with other teams across the University service to ensure service delivery to researchers.  The Biological Services team support world class teaching and research, all within the culture of care environment for animals. 

You will work alongside animal husbandry staff, students and academic staff. You will have experience in animal husbandry and have good communication skills, be well organised and proficient at maintaining accurate records to a level required by our licence conditions.

You will be expected to help promote a culture of care through the implementation of best practices. Opportunities for training will be available within this role.

This role will be subject to additional background screening.
