The NIHR- Health and Social Care Workforce Research Unit (H-SCWRU), which sits within the Policy Institute at King’s College London, is looking to recruit a Senior Research Fellow to replace a valued colleague who is retiring in late 2021.

The post holder will be looking to develop their flourishing research career by working with colleagues and partners on research that is already commissioned. In addition, they will be expected to develop their own research, bring new ideas to the table and add to the unit’s endeavours.
The Senior Research Fellow will be an ambitious and collegiate individual who is seeking a new leadership role and who is keen to work with government policy makers and other stakeholders. They will be flexible in terms of managing different studies and committed to high quality research, interested in some or multiple areas of health and adult social care, covering areas such as finance, economics, evaluations, data science, and other interface subjects.
The Senior Research Fellow may have a professional background in and/or personal experience of the subjects that H-SCWRU already research and will be keen to work with frontline practitioners and those with lived experience. A want to build research partnerships within the College and with other researchers in the UK and internationally will be essential.
This post will be offered on an a fixed-term contract for 24 months.
This is a full-time post - 100% full time equivalent
• Undertake and initiate research for the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Health and Social Care Workforce
• Work on/lead research studies agreed with NIHR School for Social Care Research and become a Senior Fellow of the School
• Develop proposals for research funding
• Support junior colleagues and other researchers
• Deputise for the Unit Director
• Engage with health and care research communities and policy stakeholders
• Engage with NHS and service providers and practitioners
• Contribute to the work of the Unit and its funders/stakeholders in a leadership role
• Assist with financial and other administrative responsibilities
