A fantastic, new, opportunity has arisen for an Analyst/Programmer to join the Information Services IT Team to design, develop, test and implement enhancements to existing bespoke software solutions as well as building new user-friendly, high-quality software solutions based on user requirements and analysis of business logic primarily for the College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences (MVLS) within the University.

We are looking for an experienced full stack C# ASP.NET MVC developer with ASP.NET Core skills that will be able to develop and support existing applications within the MVLS College. The scope of work will include everything from requirements gathering, back-end development and client-side code using optimal and efficient technologies, frameworks, and patterns. Your primary responsibilities will be to scope, design and develop these applications, therefore it’s essential that you are skilled at requirement gathering, problem solving, solution design, and high-quality coding.

Required skills

  • Proficient in C#
  • Extensive experience developing ASP.NET MVC applications
  • Experience developing ASP.NET Core MVC applications
  • Proficient in the use of Entity Framework and EF Core
  • Database design and maintenance experience particularly SQL Server
  • Experience using the Agile methodology
  • Excellent understanding of HTML, JQuery, CSS, Bootstrap
  • Experience using Code Repositories such as SVN, TFS, Git, etc.

Desirable Skills 

  • Knowledge of VB
  • Experience developing and troubleshooting ASP.NET Webforms
  • Experience using and customising Datatables / MVC Grid
