The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC) is looking for an IT Services Manager to drive excellence in technical solutions and provide a supportive service to our team.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operations, efficient technical leadership and innovation in IT systems and infrastructure. You will take a proactive approach in the identification, technical specification and delivery of new and novel technology capabilities and strategies that will have a direct technical, economic and reputational benefit to AMIC, industry and Northern Ireland. 

As a member of the AMIC team, you will have access to the latest advanced industrial technologies and have the opportunity to grow and develop as a technology leader.  The role requires working collaboratively with AMIC staff, industry, technology providers, national centres, Queen’s academic staff and government agencies in all aspects relating to technology transfer.

The posts will be appointed for 3 years in the first instance. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
 
The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria: 

  • Honours degree, or equivalent, in related IT disciplines, OR have substantial relevant experience 
  • Significant recent and relevant experience developing and managing IT services in a technology environment, including physical resources, installations and systems.
  • Strong evidence of technical excellence and understanding of fundamental IT concepts and trends, such as Big Data, AI, IOT 
  • Evidence of leadership in identifying and introducing systems or processes which deliver new and novel technology capabilities and strategies 
  • Proven experience in effective resource management, including delivering solutions within budget  and strong financial acumen in the procurement and delivery of equipment, systems and licensing arrangements.
