An exciting opportunity for a Hub Manager role is available as part of the management team for AlChemy, a new partnership between the University of Liverpool, Imperial College London, and a large consortium of academic and industrial partners. AIChemy was funded to promote the development of novel AI methods and to transform the uptake of AI in the chemistry community. The consortium brings together experts across AI and both experimental and computational chemistry. This Hub will promote connectivity of the broader community, training, and networking, as well as funding state-of-the-art research.

Based at University of Liverpool¿s Material Innovation Factory (MIF), you will have a broad range of responsibilities, working closely with the Hub Directors, academic leads, and industrial partners to provide effective logistic support to ensure the smooth running of the Hub. The Hub Manager will provide administrative and management support in the day-to-day running of the project, managing stakeholder engagement, managing grant incomes, initiating and managing calls for proposals, recruitment, and financial management. You will also have overall responsibility for initiating and co-ordinating events, such as organising scientific meetings, workshops, sandpits, cohort activities, and coordination of external partner engagements, including industrial liaison. Oversight of the management of the publicity for the project and associated research groups, training events, and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity (EDI) is also an important part of the role. You will be supported in this activity through a wider cross-institution team (4FTEs ¿ including an aligned Hub Manager role at Imperial College London) who will be supporting the running of the Hub.

The post will be ideal for an individual with excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills, interested in working creatively across a range of projects and experts to promote the development and use of AI in Chemistry. The position will be based in the School of Physical Sciences, University of Liverpool, working closely with academics in Chemistry, Computer Science, Materials Innovation Factory, Digital Innovation Facility and other departments, as well as partners across the larger consortium. You will work closely with the leadership team, broader project management team, researchers and software and data scientists to deliver on objectives.

You should have a degree or equivalent qualification, or relevant professional experience.
