About us

PraxisAuril is the national association for Knowledge Exchange (KE) professionals working in universities and research organisations to manage commercialisation, collaboration and other types of engagement with external organisations to deliver social and economic impact through innovation, enhanced productivity, and skills.

The role

PraxisAuril and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) are working together to support the development of social value commercial companies from research activities. We are seeking a dynamic person with strong skills in partnership and relationship development with an understanding of this emerging area.  This role will lead and coordinate a new community of practice in an exciting and world-leading area, helping to ensure cutting-edge research creates social change.

Build and co-ordinate a connected, self-sustaining community of Knowledge Exchange (KE) practitioners in the UK and internationally delivering long-lasting social and economic value and societal impact from research, focusing on social science, arts and humanities, through commercialisation approaches.

Develop a national training programme to equip current and new KE/TTO practitioners with the understanding needed to support social value-rich commercialisation. Identifying existing networks and communities of practice, to leverage expertise and ensure good practice is brought to a wider audience, developed for new contexts, and engages with a broad range of stakeholders.

Establish model for network co-ordination, facilitation and engagement to ensure the longevity of the CoP. 

Principle Accountabilities

  • Develop and facilitate a new UK focussed peer support and knowledge sharing approach for AHSS TTOs/KE Practitioners between UK Research Organisations and UKRI
  • Develop a way to share knowledge and networks between the UK, the USA, and others, to demonstrate UK leadership and learn from novel approaches internationally.
  • Develop training programmes for new and existing KEC professionals so that all Research Organisations hold the expertise to support social value-rich commercialisation and/or know how to access learning.

A self-starter with bags of initiative and motivation to add value to our organisation and who loves to roll up their sleeves and get things done. You’ll enjoy developing new products and services, thinking outside of the box and injecting creativity where possible.

Required

  • Knowledge/experience of KE in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Knowledge/experience of commercialisation activities that prioritise social impact
  • Experience of operating in the national and international innovation environment and knowledge of the associated modes of collaboration
  • Experience of initiating and developing long term strategic partnerships with external organisations including successfully maintaining a network of contacts
  • Experience of project managing collaborative knowledge exchange projects in academic, industrial, or public sector settings
  • Experience of leading the facilitation of internal/external workshops
  • Articulate with strong communication skills, including delivering presentations and communicating at all levels
  • Excellent relationship builder across staff, external stakeholders, volunteers
  • Strong Microsoft skills (Excel, Word, PPT), CRM experience preferred
  • Organised, self-motivated and an ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Quality and customer focused with excellent attention to detail
