Duties and Responsibilities

The administrator will support the interdisciplinary Extreme Citizen Science research group situated within the Department of Geography. The postholder will be responsible for the financial monitoring, planning and administration of the group’s various research projects (current and proposed). They will need to ensure adherence to the various funding bodies’ reporting and recording requirements in accordance with each project’s grant agreement and description of work. They will be required to collate, present and record information for funders’ review reports and will also need to assist researchers in the consolidation of data such as event statistics to monitor project progress. They will be required to support researchers by undertaking tasks such as ordering equipment, booking travel and organising workshops and seminars.

The post is initially funded for 12 months commencing mid/late April 2018.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will educated to A level or have equivalent experience. they will need to have a high degree of computer literacy, including cloud storage solutions (google drive, dropbox, sharepoint etc); Microsoft office; collaboration tools (basecamp, trello); confident and proficient in finding information online (e.g. on the UCL website). Experience working in a research environment, in particular an awareness of funders’ reporting and record-keeping requirements is also essential.
