The University of Essex has an exciting opportunity to join our Research and Enterprise Office (REO) in the post of Administrator, Impact Acceleration Account (IAA).

The successful candidate will join a lively and friendly team of around 70 professionals in the REO, working to enable research development, knowledge exchange and wider impact, engagement with businesses, and having institutional research planning and governance responsibilities. The REO supports and enables excellent research with impact to be conducted within this world-leading research intensive university.

Duties of the Role

The purpose of the post is to provide effective administrative support for the delivery of the University’s Impact Acceleration Account, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council.

The post-holder will provide support to the IAA Programme by monitoring projects and budgets, assisting with the preparation of data and reports, providing secretariat services to the Steering Group and funding panels, managing correspondence and internal communications and providing general administrative support to the IAA Manager to ensure the smooth running of the programme.

Skills and qualifications required

The successful candidate will be educated to at least A Level or equivalent standard, have experience of meeting deadlines and managing competing priorities, working with budgets, providing secretariat services to meetings, and extensive experience of using IT based applications including Microsoft Office, Outlook and the internet. They will have excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work on their own initiative and solve problems effectively.
