Are you looking for an interesting administrative role? Do you like variety and thrive on challenges? This may be the role for you!
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator to join the Faculty of Philosophy to cover the maternity leave of the current postholder. The post is fixed-term until 1 May 2025 and is ideal for candidates wishing to develop their administrative experience in Higher Education.
The successful candidate will be part of the Faculty’s professional services team and will carry out a wide range of tasks to support the administrative and academic activities of the Faculty, including acting as the first point of contact at the Philosophy Faculty, dealing with visitors, and coordinating arrangements for the Faculty’s series of seminars with invited speakers.
This role will suit an individual who enjoys being part of a busy office and working in an environment of changing priorities. The post-holder will be required to be both proactive and reactive, and be able to work effectively as a team member as well as on their own initiative to ensure the smooth running of the Faculty and its activities.
Applicants should have experience of managing administrative processes, preferably in the Higher Education sector; the ability to work independently with minimum supervision; a willing, resilient and flexible attitude; the ability to work well with people at all levels, along with excellent communication and organisational skills. Previous experience of editing websites would also be advantageous.
Applications for this post are to be made online and should be submitted no later than 12 noon on 15 March 2024.
Interviews will take place on 21 March 2024.
