Accommodation and Commercial Manager

About the role
We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead our Accommodation, ResLife, Conference and Events teams. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for managing the operations and development of these teams in close partnership with the Head of Accommodation and Revenue. Your focus will be on ensuring professional delivery and development of services to our students, while demonstrating innovation, effectiveness, and positive returns. 
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting students' transition into University accommodation and creating an engaged community with clear signposting to support services across the institution. Additionally, you will be responsible for giving direction and ensuring sound operational management of Leicester Conferences, including our dedicated hotel and conference centre events, maximizing commercial profits.

About you
To excel in this role, you should have demonstrable experience managing successful teams and projects, with the ability to manage budgets and implement operational systems. This will likely come from being educated to degree level in a relevant field or with significant vocational experience in a similar setting. In addition, familiarity with Microsoft Office and other databases is a must.
 
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 because the appointee will have substantial access to young people and/or vulnerable adults. Therefore, an appointment to this post will be subject to checking and appropriate clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The successful applicant for this post will, therefore, be required to give consent for the University to check with the DBS for the existence and content of any criminal record in the form of an Enhanced Disclosure. Information received from the DBS and the police will be kept in strict confidence and will be destroyed once the University is satisfied in this regard.
