Falmouth Exeter Plus manages and delivers services at Falmouth, Penryn and Truro Campuses on behalf of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter. A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Student & Library Services Directorate as an Accessibility Advisor.  Accessibility Advisors provide information, advice and support to both prospective and current disabled students.  On a daily basis this includes providing information on appropriate funding, assessing and communicating recommendations for reasonable adjustments and the contribution to the development of inclusive practices and resources across the organisation. 
This role would suit a self-motivated, people centred individual with excellent communication skills who would thrive by joining a close-knit and supportive team.
About You
Reporting to the Accessibility Team Leader, the successful candidate will be able work flexibility and independently and have the ability to prioritise their workload in a busy environment, while being passionate about delivering excellent customer service.  We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with a knowledge of a range of disabilities and the types of reasonable adjustments that can effectively support disabled students in HE. 
 
The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification/relevant professional experience, alongside previous knowledge of DSA and other grant funding streams available to students with disabilities.  You will also have experience in advising and supporting disabled young people/adults in an education, community, health, or employment setting.  Candidates will require excellent IT and administrative skills, as a key aspect of this role is managing a demanding and complex caseload, using online systems.  Candidates will also need demonstrable experience of effective intervention and signposting in crisis situations, including in a multi-disciplinary/department setting.
 
This post is offered on a 37.5 hour a week, full time, permanent contract working across Monday-Friday on a hybrid basis, working both from home and on campus.
