Oxford Brookes University is recruiting an Access Project Assistant to work as part of the Access Projects team within the Access & Outreach team. You’ll be joining a highly motivated and friendly team. We split our time flexibly between working from home and working in our open plan office as well as being on campus regularly for events.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Access and Outreach Team for our Marketing, Recruitment and Engagement directorate.

Overall Purpose of the post of Access Projects Assistant:

The Access & Outreach team work to attract and convert a diverse pool of applicants across the University’s Undergraduate portfolio. This includes encouraging recruitment of students from under-represented groups in order to meet the University's Access & Participation Plan targets.

As part of the Access Projects Team, the Access Projects Assistant supports the team in delivering sustained and intensive access projects designed to recruit students from under-represented groups in order to meet the University’s access and participation targets. This involves working with the team to plan and deliver our sustained and intensive access programmes, Brookes Engage and Summer Schools, as well as supporting our progressive provision for mature students and our sustained access programme for care-experienced students.

Qualifications and Experience for the post of Access Projects Assistant:

We want to hear from candidates who have;

●       Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a diverse workload

●       Awareness of higher education student recruitment and widening participation context.

●       Experience of supporting the organisation of events

●       Good verbal and written communication skills for a variety of audiences

●       Data administration skills including databases and excel spreadsheets

CV and Personal Statement:

As part of the application process all applicants are required to complete our online application form by clicking on the “Apply for Job” button below.  All parts of the application form should be completed and in the section of the form called “Supporting Documents”, applicants must upload their CV and a Personal Statement.  To complete the Personal Statement part of the application, applicants must download the Personal Statement document which is part of the advert below and complete the form, providing examples and explaining how they meet each item detailed on the document.  The Personal Statement must then be uploaded to the application form along with the CV.

This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the points based immigration system, however applications are welcome from candidates who don’t currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a visa via another route.

The successful applicant will need to be subject to a background disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) before any appointment can be confirmed.
