The Opportunity: Our Academic Skills Tutors (ASTs) are specialists who support our students at all levels in their studies in the development of key methods and techniques to aid learning. ASTs are key to creating a positive and accessible learning environment and are passionate about supporting students in the development of their academic skills for successful progression and achievement. This is carried out in a variety of ways including on-line support, face to face teaching and 1-1s. They work alongside the Deputy Head of Library Services in the innovative development of academic skills provision for all students, and deliver a high-quality student experience.

This role will have a particular focus on supporting and coordinating academic skills support for students studying with our International Partner Institutions, including supporting our own academic staff with the provision they offer to students.

About You: You will be an academic and must have proven teaching experience in academic skills. You will need excellent digital literacy skills and a clear passion to engender these in our students, as well as possessing understanding, empathy and a kind nature with the ability to support our diverse population of students.

You should be self-motivated, positive, ambitious and organised with a genuine enthusiasm and commitment to delivery of blended and online learning. You will contribute towards the practice of continuous improvement through continuous professional development and sharing of best practice.
