Leading research universities have a unique role to play in shaping a better future for humanity. To do so, educational programmes must be transformative and focused on helping students from diverse backgrounds to develop the knowledge and skills they need to succeed and make a positive impact on the world. To achieve this, the University of Leeds is embarking on an ambituous University-wide review to refresh all our undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes over the next five years - Curriculum Redfined. The project will then embed our frameworks and new ways of working over a second five-year phase. In support of this work we are recruiting a  team of 5 educational developers to advise and support academic programme leaders and their teams  with curriculum review, design and delivery. You will also contribute to broader professional development for educators, promoting evidence informed and student centred learning design and pedagogies. You will be passionate about enhancing learning and teaching, and experienced in advising and supporting staff to design and deliver high quality HE level learning and teaching.

You will provide expert input to develop a suite of curriculum design activities and tools; devise and deliver an associated development programme to support teaching and programme leaders working with their colleagues to facilitate curriculum change; and devise and deliver curriculum review and development workshops for Faculties, Schools, and programme teams.

These roles are based in the Academic Practice Student Education Team, within the Organisational and Professional Development Department (OD&PL). The team works with academic staff to develop teaching and learning practice at all career stages, from initial professional development programmes through to short courses, communities and guidance materials for experienced staff and leaders in Student Education. This includes professional recognition for learning and teaching activities, with pathways accredited by Advance HE. The team works closely with academic leaders and other professional services to ensure our provision is appropriate and supports university-wide priorities. These new roles will also align with a Curriculum Design Function - a new structure for facilitating academic departments’ access to guidance and support for curriculum review design and implementation.

You will be positive, enthusiastic, and self-motivated with excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills, plus extensive relevant experience, and knowledge to enable you to provide effective resources and support through OD&PLs programmes and the CDF.
