InstituteQ is a national collaboration founded by Aalto University, University of Helsinki and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, jointly promoting development of quantum science and technology in Finland. Finnish Quantum Flaghsip (2024-2031) is a major national project promoted by InstituteQ. It implements several cutting-edge research programs in well-defined areas that aim to boost the emergence of innovations and businesses, and targeted ecosystem development actions. Flagship partners beyond InstituteQ are University of Jyväskylä, Tampere University, University of Oulu, and CSC IT Center for Science.

Academic coordinator, quantum science and technology

We are now looking for an academic coordinator to support the Finnish Quantum Flagship project in particular, and quantum science and technology operations of InstituteQ in general. In this position you will have a chance to grow and develop according to your personal strengths and make an impact by your contributions to one of the leading future technology areas in Finland. Your role and goals
As an academic coordinator, you will support academic personnel in a diverse range of responsibilities and tasks. Specific focus is on coordinating the new flagship, coordinating and preparing research and infrastructures (ResQ) related activities of InstituteQ, and coordinating and managing events (conferences, symposia, colloquia, workshops, planning meetings, etc.) organized by the Flagship/InstituteQ community.
As part of your duties, you will compile and prepare content for planning materials, development, and reports in conjunction with professors and other senior academic personnel working in this area. You will also plan and implement monitoring and reporting of the flagship and other major projects and initiatives that are significant for a broader quantum community in Finland. Your role will develop flexibly with the duties as the field is in rapid motion with emerging initiatives.
Your network and team
You will work in a team of academic coordinators at the Department of Applied Physics, with a specific task to coordinate and manage research and development activities focusing on quantum science and technology. Your will operate in close collaboration with the leadership of the flagship and InstituteQ, and under supervision of a senior academic coordinator in this field.
Your daily work involves active collaboration with the InstituteQ and Finnish Quantum Flagship partners. Beyond your peers at the department, you will work with administrative personnel at the flagship host organizations. Your work is supported by the common services at Aalto University, in particular research and innovation services and communication services.
The main working language is English.

The salary is based on the salary system for universities (YPJ), ranging between 3300-3800€ and depending on your experience. We hope you can start in the position as soon as possible, based on mutual agreement.
