Are you seeking an opportunity to launch your independent research career in an environment that is supportive, innovative, close to industry and practice, and will help you achieve your career aspirations and conduct impactful research?

If the answer is yes, then a Cranfield University 75th Anniversary Fellowship could be for you.

About the Role

Through the Cranfield 75th Anniversary Research Fellowships, we are looking to provide a springboard for your future research career. We will give you the opportunity to conduct innovative research, free from teaching commitments, and will support you to apply for external prestigious fellowships to further your career. Throughout the fellowship you will receive the support of a comprehensive career development programme and the chance to be mentored by leading academics, whilst benefiting from a strong peer support network and our collaborative research community. We aim to appoint 3 Research Fellows during 2022.

About You

All we ask is that you have a clear research vision, are committed to making a difference, a collegiate researcher, and you are within 3 years of your Doctorate (career breaks excepted). You might be an engineer, chemist, biologist, social scientist, or you may have a background in defence.  You can find out about our research areas and facilities here . We are flexible and are interested to hear from you if you want to become part of our Cranfield community.

About Us

As a specialist postgraduate university, Cranfield’s world-class expertise, large-scale facilities and unrivalled industry partnerships are creating leaders in technology and management globally. Learn more about Cranfield, our values and our unique impact here .

Our Commitments

We aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together and realise their full potential. Find out about our commitments to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Flexible Working here . We are piloting hybrid working arrangements until May 2022.  This means the majority of our staff are typically spending between 40% and 60% of their time working from the office.

Our equal opportunities and diversity monitoring has shown that women and black and minority ethnic groups are currently underrepresented within our STEM and defence research areas and so we actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from these groups.

To further demonstrate our commitment to progressing gender diversity in STEM, we hold an Institutional Athena SWAN Bronze award, are members of Working Families; sponsors of International Women in Engineering Day and signatories of the Women in Defence and Women in Aerospace and Aviation Charters
