The Courtauld Institute of Art is the UK’s leading institution for teaching and research into the History of Art and the conservation of paintings, and is also home to one of the finest small art museums in the world. The Courtauld is currently undergoing a capital transformation project that will make The Courtauld’s world-class artworks, research and teaching accessible to more people – in the UK and internationally.

The Courtauld is seeking a dynamic and creative Impact and Evaluation Manager to develop and strengthen the impact of Courtauld research for non-academic beneficiaries. Working with the Dean for Research, Research Manager, and stakeholder groups across The Courtauld, the role holder will help to embed a culture of research impact and knowledge exchange in line with the Courtauld Research Strategy, the Courtauld Strategic Plan, and the UKRI impact and knowledge exchange agenda. They will undertake and support research impact planning at individual, departmental, and institutional levels, providing practical support to enable and evaluate impact and knowledge exchange activity.  

They will play a key role in supporting The Courtauld’s submission to REF2028, including evidence-gathering and writing of impact case studies. They will help to develop and maintain effective partnerships beyond academia that enable research co-production, impact, and knowledge exchange.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in the Higher Education sector, of supporting research impact and knowledge exchange activity, and of reporting on research activity. They will have strong organisational, analytical and communication skills, and an ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders internally and externally.
