The Courtauld Institute of Art is the UK’s leading institution for teaching and research into the History of Art and the conservation of paintings, and is also home to one of the finest small art museums in the world. The Courtauld is currently undergoing a capital transformation project that will make The Courtauld’s world-class artworks, research and teaching accessible to more people – in the UK and internationally.
We are seeking a Commercial and Visitor Engagement Supervisor to be the friendly face of The Courtauld Gallery when we reopen our doors to visitors in November, following a three year closure and a transformation of the Gallery spaces. Bringing your personality and creativity to The Courtauld, you’ll greet each and every visitor with a friendly and warm welcome, and support the wider Commercial and Visitor Engagement team. You’ll work flexibly, collegiately, and with good humour across both the Retail and Gallery admissions areas. And in everything you do, you’ll aim for the highest possible standards of visitor care.
Applicants will need:
- Experience of working within a retail or customer services role.
- Demonstrable understanding of leading or supervising a team of staff or volunteers.
- Experience of being a key-holder or equivalent level of responsibility.
- Minimum GCSE Level Qualifications to include English and maths or equivalent qualification.
- A good understanding of what excellent customer service is, and how to deliver it.
- Experienced in cash-handling and reconciliation of monies.
- Experience of working as part of a successful team in a customer-facing environment.
- Excellent communications skills.
