We are now seeking to appoint an energetic and inspirational individual as the Head of Business, Operations and Strategy within Greenwich Business School (GBS). This is an exciting opportunity to develop the School and to act as an advocate for positive change in a modern London-based Business School with ambitious plans for the future.

The school offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Business Management, Business Analytics, Sustainability Management, Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Logistics and Supply Chain and is home to over 2,000 students and around 100 staff. Our ambition is to continue to grow and innovate our provision and to develop practice-led courses that are aligned to the evolving needs of industry. The majority of our programmes are accredited by professional statutory and regulatory bodies including the CMI and CILT and we work closely with our School Advisory Board to develop our curricula. Business, Operations and Strategy also have a large number of international TNE partnerships plus a developing network of strategic partnerships, locally and nationally. We see partnerships and engagement as one of our key drivers of positive change, supporting Greenwich Business School to meet its strategic ambitions for 2030.

The successful candidate will be an experienced leader who can build teams and develop a portfolio that will meet current and future business needs. They will need to be able to think strategically and be capable of developing strategic partnerships and establishing a profile and reputation for the school.

You will need to be abreast of the latest developments in business and able to cultivate good working relationships with external stakeholders to promote the School and secure support for its aims and objectives.

As a key member of our Faculty Leadership Team, you will lead, collaborate and contribute to the strategic priorities of Greenwich Business School. You will need to be an approachable leader, able to motivate and communicate with academic and professional services colleagues. The role will also require you to be able to engage confidently with a variety of senior colleagues and stakeholders across the university and externally.

The Head of Business, Operations and Strategy will be expected to:

  • Develop and grow school's programme portfolio to reflect industry advancements.
  • Develop and innovate teaching, learning and assessment pedagogies, including embedding tech- enhanced learning.
  • Contribute to the School’s successful research culture and inspire others to attain excellence in research and enterprise activity.
  • Develop plans to continuously improve the School's student metrics of satisfaction, continuation, graduate outcomes and close award gaps.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Faculty Leadership Team to achieve the faculty KPIs. Foster a collegiate and inclusive working environment for staff and students.
