The Faculty of Engineering & Science is one of four faculties at the University of Greenwich, split across two campuses – the Medway Campus in Chatham Maritime, Kent, and the Greenwich Campus in Greenwich, London. Dedicated to inspirational learning, combining teaching with work placements and impactful research and is a complete hub for all STEM subjects within the University. 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our Professional Services Team as a Faculty Senior Research Officer, fixed-term to 31st March 2025. The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth operation of a wide range of Faculty Research activities, including the Postgraduate research community.  They will also be responsible for the daily secretarial and administrative functions of the Faculty Research office which includes data collection, preparation of documents and forms, maintaining databases and spreadsheets, organising and servicing meetings and groups across both campuses, as well as other key administrative functions. 

The successful candidate will have previously worked in an FE education environment (ideally in HE), have substantial secretarial/administrative experience, with extensive experience in servicing and minute-taking at a variety of meetings. Excellent project management skills, as well as IT skills with experience of Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel) and other tools such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint is an essential requirement. The successful candidate must have experience of collaborating and liaising with a wide variety of individuals and organisations as well as being able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of colleagues and students.

This role holder can choose to be based at our Medway or Greenwich campus, reporting to the Faculty Administrative Services Manager.
