The University of Greenwich is seeking to appoint to the post of Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities (Capital, Property and Space) within its Estates and Facilities Directorate.

The University of Greenwich is one of the largest universities in the UK and works with universities across the world delivering its programmes. With breath-taking heritage campuses, it combines the old with a new, dynamic vision for the future:  high quality curriculum design and delivery, research-informed teaching, technology-enhanced learning, students as partners, and promoting student success within a cross-cultural context. The Greenwich campus is based on a UNESCO World Heritage Site and we are custodians of 16 listed buildings with special architectural or historic interest.

The Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities (Capital, Property and Space) supports the Executive Director of Estates and Facilities in the strategic leadership and effective management of the Estates department whilst taking specific responsibility for the leadership of Capital, Property and Space teams within the department.  This is an exciting time to be taking up this newly created role.  The University has a £300m capital programme to realise its 2030 Estates Strategy with several major projects and significant investment in decarbonisation planned.  This role will lead on the delivery of this.

We are seeking an individual with proven experience in a senior and strategic estates leadership role and a track record in delivering large-scale capital programmes.  The role takes responsibility for the Property and Space functions (through the manager of an Associate Director, Property and Space) so we are seeking an individual capable of taking portfolio level leadership of this area – as such experience of strategic estates planning relating to property asset management and space management would be advantageous.

The role is responsible for a large-scale and diverse multidisciplinary team of internal team members and a broad spectrum of external delivery partners therefore exceptional leadership skills are crucial to be a success in the role.
