We are looking to recruit a Research Funding Manager (Post Award) to join our team in St George’s Joint Research and Enterprise Services. This is an interesting and varied role where you will lead a team of two Research Funding Officers to support, manage and facilitate our excellent medical and healthcare research at St George’s. 

The role involves management of a team covering the post award aspects of the research lifecycle including project set up, the financial management of research and financial reporting. Building good relationships with our researchers is key to the job, along with managing the team’s workload and ensuring that the processes to support post award research funding are in place.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in supporting research in the Higher Education (or related) sector to start out or continue in a team management position and develop their knowledge, skills and career.  

Key attributes of the successful applicant include:

  • Experience of research support in a higher education or related role
  • Financial management experience
  • Experience of managing and developing staff, or the aptitude for team management 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organised
  • A customer-oriented approach
