Wrexham University’s civic mission is focused on working with a wide range of partners across North Wales to tackle the collective challenge of ending social inequality in the region by 2030. Our Civic Mission Partnership Strategy sets out a clear plan to achieve this around three key objectives – Leadership and whole system working, building community resilience and keeping well. 

The University wishes to appoint a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant to deliver research against our ambitious mission. The post holder will create capacity to embed a culture of positive and inclusive research, to deliver research outputs that evidence the impact of our work and develop citizens-informed research across the Civic Mission project portfolio. 

The post holder will work with a small team, lead the research impact case studies from the Leadership Learning and Storytelling (LLS) project to engage 3 cohorts of Children and Young People, from Early Years, Looked After Children and CYP with Additional Learning Needs. The post holder will focus on maximising sustainable funding opportunities and pooled resources to develop research outputs and capture impact that drives whole systems change and shape policy.

The Post-Doctoral Research Assistant will provide expert research assistance within the project, through robust data collection, contributing to and steering research activities, you will liaise with a range of people at different levels of authority, networking in the wider academic community to raise the profile of the research and increase the potential impact of the findings. They will be responsible for maintaining confidential information throughout the project and will support the research lead throughout.

The post holder will ensure the smooth progress of the project, working collaboratively to keep all involved in the project informed of progress and meeting the planned schedule.
