Description

KU is seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to work on catalysis projects with focus on energy and fuels. Materials development, characterization and analytical lab skills are additional skills. The RE will oversee the smooth operation of the labs as well.  

• Function autonomously, ethically and responsibly.
• Collaborate and work in a collegial manner with the research team members.
• Develop learning initiatives, and engage in appropriate technical training and professional development opportunities as required by the project leader and the University.
• Support the research group in the design and advancement of the research program.
• Carry out a specified research program under the directions of the project supervisor.
• Engage in the wider activities of the research group.
• Adhere to the University's information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc from a reputable university in Materials or Chemistry or Chemical engineering or related discipline.
• Experience on technical writing
• A willingness to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture
• Excellent English language communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• The proven ability to work on multiple tasks with competing demands and deadlines.

Ability to train and mentor students and support fellow researchers (when applicable)
