Applications are invited for a Research Assistant/Associate position in the developmental psychology lab of Dr. Theodore Waters at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD). The appointment will be for 1 year starting in Fall 2024 with funding available for additional years pending performance review. Competitive salary and benefits packages are available.
Candidates must hold (or be close to completing) a bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field. Preference will be given to those with post graduate degrees (e.g. MA in psychology). Current laboratory research focuses primarily on the role of representations of early experience (e.g. attachment) in behavior and psychological adjustment in both western and non-western samples ranging in age from middle childhood to middle age.
Successful candidates will be charged with organization, oversight, and logistics associated with the collection of data, analyses of existing data, design and implementation of new projects, and coordinating activities between Dr. Waters’ lab and collaborators at outside institutions. Primary tasks will include organizing and managing research projects, training in data coding, coding of data, transcription, data entry, and organizing submissions of conference presentations and research reports.
The successful applicant will have opportunities to contribute to, and be represented on, academic publications. Funds are also available for travel to conferences should the need arise.
