Open Rank Faculty - Medical Sciences 

Position description

Khalifa University is a leading academic institution dedicated to providing world-class education, research, and innovation. The Department of Medical Sciences within the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Khalifa University covers a wide array of fields including infection and chronic diseases, artificial intelligence in health, precision medicine, and aging, among others. 

The faculty members conduct cutting-edge research on a wide range of topics within these fields. The department offers a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences with a focus on Precision Medicine.

The department is part of a young vibrant college with 4 departments hosting 4 PhD programs and 4 Master and Bachelor programs. The college has world class research facilities.

The department invites applications for Three open rank positions in the following areas:

Aging

Metabolic Diseases

Neurodegeneration

Immunotherapy

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Biomedical or Life Sciences or related disciplines from an accredited institution is required, along with a minimum of two years of experience. Preference will be given to candidates with education from and/or previous service in distinguished institutions of higher education. The successful candidates will join a vibrant and forward-thinking department with a focus on cutting-edge research and excellence in education. We are seeking candidates specializing in biomedical sciences to contribute to our academic mission. The candidates are expected to engage in high-impact research, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, mentor and advise students, foster intellectual curiosity and research excellence and actively participate in the academic community.

Candidates should demonstrate expertise in fundamental or applied research, have an established research reputation or outstanding research potential, strong publication record in top journals, have the ability to attract external research funding and have a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. 

The candidate’s CV should include the following information, among others: Field of Specialization, Citation Data from Scopus and Scholar with links, Academic Qualifications, Academic Honors and Awards, Membership of Professional Bodies; Summary of Courses Taught, Participation in Academic Accreditation if any; Students Supervised by Level, Complete List of Publications, Research Grants Obtained; Membership of Conference Committees, Membership of Journal Editorial Boards, and Services.
