The Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich is a centre of competence for Swiss and international security policy. It offers security policy expertise in research, teaching, and consultancy.
We are looking for two Senior Researchers focusing on Conflict Management, Conflict Resolution or Violence Prevention with a flexible starting date. 


Job description

You will be expected to develop your own, independent research project in the field of Conflict Management, Conflict Resolution, or Violence Prevention. Furthermore, you will teach on our MAS in Mediation in Peace Processes, collaborate with other CSS researchers where feasible, and publish in internationally renowned academic outlets.


Your profile
  • We are looking for two innovative and highly motivated researchers with a background in peace and conflict studies.
  • Expertise in mediation, peace processes, conflict negotiation, ceasefires or similar topics is particularly welcome.
  • You must have a PhD in a relevant field or be right before its completion.
  • You possess excellent English language skills, high-level analytical and writing skills, and an independent and well-organized working style.
  • The ability to work in an international team is essential, as is your readiness to engage with other researchers at CSS working on a range of security issues.
