Tenure-track Assistant Professorship / SNSF Professorial Fellowship or SNF Starting Grant
100 %

The Department of Molecular Life Sciences (MLS) at the University of Zurich wishes to offer a tenure-track assistant professorship to successful SNSF Professorial Fellowship or SNF Starting Grant applicants from outstanding researchers in the fields of molecular, cellular and computational biology. Of particular interest for this call are candidates who will be able to take a leading role in shaping the 'BioVisionCenter', a newly founded multi-institutional center that aims to have a transformative impact on molecular and biomedical life science research through multi-scale bioimage analysis and next generation computer vision approaches. The MLS provides a lively, inclusive and diverse working environment where a wide range of cutting-edge approaches - including single-cell genomics, quantitative multi-scale imaging, and computational biology - are applied to investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms of living systems. Current research topics include multi-cellular dynamics and organ differentiation, systems biology, and neuronal development and function.

Interested candidates should submit a description of research interests with clearly defined future aims (not exceeding five pages), a cover letter, CV and contact details of 3 referees by October 15th, 2022 directly to Angela Lloyd . Please contact Lucas Pelkmans or Darren Gilmour for more information. Interviews will take place in November 2022, with the first round of interviews being held online.

SNSF Professorial Fellowships, the replacement for the SNSF Eccellenza and Prima fellowships, are restricted to applicants with a connection to Switzerland (either Swiss nationality, a Swiss higher education degree or two years research experience in Switzerland). The submission deadline is 1st February 2023.
SNSF Professorial Fellowships
SNSF Starting Grants, the replacement of ERC Starting grants, are open to researchers of any nationality and there is no requirement for a connection to Switzerland. The call for 2023 will be announced in November 2022.
