10%-30%, Zurich, fixed-term

Yu Zhang, a PhD student at the Engineering Design and Computing Lab, is looking for a student assistant for this Fall.
It is a paid job to start from October 2021 about 6-12 hours per week. The duration of this job is mainly from the starting date to at least mid December, and is extendable in 2022 based on the student’s availability. You need to be a registered student at ETH Zurich with a permit that allows him/her to work in Switzerland.
Location: Depends on the work, either in the Robotic Fabrication Lab on the Honggerberg campus or in Engineering Design and Computing Lab on Zentrum campus.


Job description

We are looking for a student to conduct the following work:

  • make earth bricks using a Compressed Earth brick (CEB) press (including but not limited to preparing the material, loading the material, and operating the press)
  • conduct related material tests (soil composition, strength tests, etc.)

  • You have to have a valid work permit or to be Swiss citizen
