Your mission :
Define, implement, and deliver the IT strategy of the school in collaboration with the STI School management and faculty, as well as the EPFL central services.


Main duties and responsibilities include :
  • Manage and coach the STI IT unit’s team of approx. 15 people (planning, performance, budget)
  • Manage requests for new needs in research, education or innovation, prioritization of such, design, implementation and deployment of solutions that best fit the EPFL ecosystem and our user needs.
  • Responsible for IT security, implementation of rules, baselines, and best practices for the school and dependent research centers.
  • Represent the School in the commissions and bodies related to IT within EPFL, and outside (ETH Domain, SWITCH, and others)
  • Ensure the proper functioning of operational IT, including continuous improvement of support, revision of services
  • Ensure the proper functioning of IT processes, projects and services through customer satisfaction and metrics

Your profile :
  • A solid experience of several years in the field of IT management
  • University degree preferably in IT
  • Strong experience in projects and services management and record of successful delivery
  • Proven experience in team management in a matrix environment
  • Autonomy and team spirit, excellent leadership skills
  • Good understanding of compliance and IT security best practices
  • Good knowledge of IT related fields
  • Good communicator and strong negotiation skills
  • Fluency in French and English essential
  • Previous experience in academic and research environment a plus
  • Experience in financial management of a unit, including invoice management a plus
