Research Assistant

At the Department of Political Science , we are looking for a Research Assistant (20 %)
for a SNSF-financed research project on electoral reforms in the late 19th and early 20th century in Western Europe, North America, and Oceania. In the project, we collect and analyze statistical data, parliamentary debates, and roll call votes to study why parties and legislators develop preferences for different electoral systems.
Your responsibilities
  • Archival research in Switzerland (e.g. data collection)
  • Digitization of historical documents (e.g. electoral results)
  • Literature research

Your profile
  • Advanced studies (Bachelor or Master) in political science, history, or another relevant field with good or very good grades
  • Working knowledge of Excel
  • Fluency in German/French; knowledge of an additional European language is a plus
  • Reliability and flexibility
  • An interest in comparative politics
