The Development Economics Group (ETH-DEC) is offering a research assistant position in Development Economics (net monthly salary: CHF 3200). Starting time is the 1st of January 2023 for 6 months. Payment per month.


Job description
  • You will mainly work on cleaning data sets and conducting statistical analysis in preparation for academic publications for ongoing research projects within the field of sustainable resource use, youth employment, and evidence-informed policymaking.
  • You will also be responsible for visualizing results, and literature reviews and contributing to writing.
  • Last, you will be involved in organizational tasks related to running our research group.

Your profile
  • You have a Master’s degree in economics, statistics or a related field. 
  • You have a strong background in quantitative methods, are excited to code and are interested in development economics.
  • Working knowledge of the statistical software R and/or STATA is required.
  • You must speak and write English fluently.
  • Knowledge of InDesign and French or German is a plus, but not required.

This is a position to get some research experience between a Master’s degree and a PhD program.
