Project Coordinator at Center for Climate Systems Modeling (C2SM)

The ETH Center for Climate Systems Modeling C2SM, the Federal Office of Meteorology and Climatology MeteoSwiss and further partners are jointly developing new Swiss climate scenarios in the framework of the Klima CH2025 project.


Job description

We are looking for a project coordinator for the Klima CH2025 project. This project will update and extend the CH2018 Climate Scenarios for Switzerland to provide the scientific basis for the national adaptation plan of the Swiss government. You will co-coordinate the project in close collaboration with the project manager at MeteoSwiss. This includes jointly supervising and realising the timely implementation of the project plan, monitoring its progress, planning and organising meetings, being responsible for the communication within the project, and contributing to and coordinating the release of the Klima CH2025 project results through the different dissemination channels (e.g., technical report, brochure, flyer), and representing the project within the National Centre for Climate Services (NCCS, www.nccs.ch ) and at national and international conferences. Additionally, you will contribute to the application and extension of scientific methods to generate the climate scenarios and potentially the supervision of further staff working on the scenarios.

Your profile

You have an MSc degree in climate, environmental sciences or a related field, preferably a PhD and some previous experience in climate analysis or climate statistics. Motivation for climate research, strong team spirit, experience in project management and coordination, and excellent communication and writing skills both in German and English are required. The employment is limited to the end of the project at the end of 2025.
