ETH for Development (ETH4D ) is an ETH-wide initiative to develop innovations that address global development challenges and educate future leaders in sustainable development.
Engineering for Humanitarian Action (EHA) is a partnership between both Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology (ETH Zurich  and EPFL ) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC ) to develop innovative solutions for a greater impact of humanitarian action. 

Employment start: July 2023 or based on mutual agreement

Contract duration: 2 years-possibility of extension linked to funding       


Job description

In this position, you will manage the “Engineering for Humanitarian Action  (EHA)” Partnership with EPFL and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Furthermore, you will be responsible for the grant management for global development research and student/faculty exchange with partner universities in low- and middle-income countries. In addition, you will be co-organizing public events and workshops related to global sustainable development and diversity, equity and inclusion. You will support the ETH4D communication activities such as the website and social media channels.


Your profile
  • MA or PhD degree ideally related to global development or engineering
  • Experience managing projects including finances and managing various stakeholders
  • Strong ability to communicate in English (oral and written); German and French are a plus
  • Outstanding intercultural communication skills, and ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team
  • Dedication to detail, open-minded, kind, excited to learn new things and to work in a dynamic and fast-paced team
  • Experience in the field of international development and/or work experience in a low- or middle-income country and/or in an academic setting is a strong plus
