Professorship of Gendermedicine 100%

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich invites applications for a Professorship of Gendermedicine starting at the earliest date possible.

The successful candidate will conduct research on the impact of both biological sex and sociocultural gender on health and disease. Research may range from basic, translational, and clinical studies to health care studies and should generate new knowledge about gender differences in as many areas as possible. Findings from gender research should be integrated into medical teaching and clinical care.

The professorship will be established at the University Hospital Zurich. At the University Hospital Zurich, the establishment of a clinical center, e.g. a – Women’s Health Center -, is planned, which will cooperate closely with the Chair of Gender Medicine or be managed in personal union.

The University of Zurich, the University Hospital Zurich and the nearby ETH Zurich offer an excellent environment for committed qualified young researchers. We expect that you have already acquired high international visibility in your field of work and are able to advance your subject academically and clinically at the highest level. A completed residency in a subject relevant to gender medicine and adequate leadership experience at least at the level of attending physician is required. Several years of experience in leading a clinical team and/or a research group, as well as in planning and conducting studies in basic and/or clinical research are therefore required. This must be proven by appropriate publications and a proven and successful acquisition of competitive third-party funding over years.

German language skills (level B2 of the common European framework of reference for languages) are required for this position. If not already present, corresponding language skills must be acquired within a reasonable period of time.
