Further tasks of the professorship are, in addition to the clinical management of one of the disorder-specific tracks in the DPPP, the establishment of an innovative clinical research program for the development and application of new transdiagnostic and translational procedures and therapeutic methods in the sense of personalized precision medicine. To this end, the professorship will link the expertise already available at the PUK in translational neurobiological research in an interdisciplinary manner with each other, as well as with the clinical players. In addition to leading an own research program,
For clinical duties, the professor reports directly to the Director of the DPPP. Depending on prior experience, the clinical position may serve as a career development position, e.g., as preparation for a chair of a clinical department.
Applicants will have a board-certification in psychiatry and psychotherapy (Swiss Medical Board or equivalent) and clinical leadership experience at least at the level of an attending physician. For this clinician-scientist position (MD or MD-PhD), in-depth clinical psychiatric experience across the entire spectrum of mental disorders is required, as well as in-depth expertise in either affective, psychotic, substance use or stress-related disorders, ideally with experience regarding integrated treatment pathways. Evidence of successful clinical and experimental research focused on a major area of mental disorders is required. Methodological expertise in procedures to establish potential transdiagnostic biomarkers in psychiatry, such as multimodal MR-imaging, neurophysiology, computational approaches or neuroimmunology is expected. Additional expertise in health services research is an asset. A habilitation (or equivalent, e.g. lecturer) is expected, as well as an internationally recognized research track record, including acquisition of competitive extramural funding. Particularly important for this position is a high degree of leadership skills, social competence, teamwork skills, and aspirations for national and international networking.
German language skills (level B2 of the common European framework of reference for languages) are required for this position. If not already present, corresponding language skills must be acquired within a reasonable period of time.
As employers, the University of Zurich and the PUK promote equal opportunities. The Faculty of Medicine implements specific measures in the appointment process to increase the proportion of female professors.
