Professor of Sustainable Biosynthesis

The Schools of Basic Sciences (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and Life Sciences at EPFL invite applications for a tenure-track assistant professor to hold the Lonza Chair in Sustainable Biosynthesis as part of a joint position within the Institutes of Chemical Sciences and Engineering (ISIC) and of Bioengineering (IBI).


Requirements

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the development of green chemistry methods, in particular by the rational design of synthetic biology pathways, via metabolic engineering and/or by the establishment of in silico and artificial intelligence approaches.
Applications of interest include engineered, novel biological systems designed for the development of novel environment - friendly and/or high - throughput chemical synthesis tools, pharmaceutical compounds and biologics.
Candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
