Professor of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology

The Medical Faculty of the University of Basel and the University Hospital Basel are looking to fill the position of Professor and Head of Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology

You are responsible for Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology in the Department of Clinical Research (DKF) at the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel. Through your clinical expertise and research activities, you will strengthen the national and international visibility of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Basel and the University Hospital Basel.
Your expertise and interest in teaching ensures and promotes the continuing medical education of residents and senior physicians according to the guidelines of the Swiss Institute for Continuing Medical Education (SIWF) in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology. With your commitment to university research and teaching, you inspire students for your subject and promote the next generation of academics in clinical pharmacology. Your integrative approach convinces representatives of other clinical disciplines to join you in shaping university teaching in Clinical Pharmacology.
Your participative and goal-oriented understanding of leadership ensures an attractive working environment for academic and clinical specialists. You lead a research group and create a fertile environment for a successful research team. You are involved in the further development and management of an ECTU (early clinical trials unit) for phase 0 to phase IIa studies.

You have broad experience in all areas of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology as well as great clinical expertise in at least one of their subspecialties. You demonstrate successful own research activity with competitive external funding in a clinical research area. You have proven leadership experience in an academic environment. Thanks to your distinctive expertise, your leadership and communication skills as well as your high social competence, you gain acceptance and trust. You create an attractive working environment, inspire creative thinking and action, and encourage your employees. You have good German language skills.
