Postdoctoral Scholar in Animal Nutrition

The Animal Nutrition Group at ETH Zurich is seeking a motivated, team-oriented Postdoctoral Scholar.


Project background

The position is located in the Institute of Agricultural Sciences at ETH Zurich within the Laboratory of Animal Nutrition (Prof. Dr. Mutian Niu). The Niu laboratory conducts interdisciplinary research using the combination of hypothesis- and data-driven approaches.


Job description

The position will be involved in experiments investigating the effect of diet on greenhouse gas emissions and nitrogen excretions, as well as milk composition and quality of dairy cows. Projects may span from applied in vitro and in vivo experiments to basic functionalities of complex microbial ecosystems, to statistical modeling, with the goal of improving the sustainability of dairy farms.


Your profile

Experience in dairy nutrition or physiology is required. Must be able to work independently and as a team. Written communication skills are important and must be able to effectively write scientific manuscripts. Applicants are required to have Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in an appropriate field and be able to provide evidence that all requirements have been met for completion of the Ph.D. prior to the effective date of hire.
